The Blue Fire section is the most challenging part of the trip. Visitors must descend a steep and rocky path from the crater rim, so proper trekking shoes and caution are required.

Blue Fire is a natural phenomenon and visibility depends on weather conditions, volcanic activity, and safety regulations from local authorities. While it is commonly visible, it cannot be guaranteed.

We recommend warm clothing, a windproof jacket, long pants, comfortable trekking shoes, gloves, and a hat. Temperatures at Kawah Ijen before sunrise can be quite cold.
